Hello to all our Icecats families,
Although the Icecats season will look a little different, we hope that you will value the friendships, development and return to play we aim to provide your young athlete. It has been a long process with many twists and turns. Rather send information that was going to change by the minute, we made the decision to wait till things were on a more solid footing with the hockey community at large. Rest assured there will be Icecats taking to the ice to continue a tradition of success, fun and development this season, and look forward to seeing everyone back at the rink.
The importance of your safety and security has been at the forefront of all the decisions made to get to this point. We value and respect the all the families that have made Clearview the great organization it is, and truly excited to see everyone getting back together (albeit gradually). Please read below the plan for Returning to play. If there are any questions and concerns, please reach out to Fred or Deb, and they would be happy to address them for you.
Return to Play -Clearview Ice Cats
All Covid 19 protocols for safety will be enforced and followed to ensure the best possible safe return for our athletes. These will include tracking of all participants, health screening both on site and prior to attendance on line (possible), wearing of masks in all public areas and up until players go on the ice. Encouragement to dress prior to arrival as much as possible to minimize time in change rooms. Social distancing at all times (6 meters) both on ice and while in all areas of arena including change rooms and benches. . Parents will be limited/or not permitted if numbers exceed facility guidelines.
Following all protocols outlined in the most recent Return to Play document August 19th 2020 as well as those of the facilities we use and the direction of the Simcoe County Health unit our proposal is the following.
Commencing September 8th 2020 our teams would be on the ice once a week for skating and drills.
Commencing October 2020 our teams would assume there regular ice times. As of October 15th we would propose in engaging in 3 on 3 play both internally if numbers permit as well as playing against teams in our Simcoe region. These could include North Simcoe Girls Hockey, Orillia, Collingwood, Caledon and Orangeville. We would follow the bubble leagues guidelines of up to 50.
Scrimmage teams would consist of 10 -12 players depending on division and enrollment.
We are proposing the following teams
U9- house league
U15- competitive (3)
U18- competitive (1)
Intermediate and Senior (competitive)
Attached please find example contracts from our home facilities.
Submitted in sincerity and sport
